Ancient Cities Of Asia That Have Been Ruined By Time

We find several such cities in the Asian continent, which has a very long history.  The most important of these is information about three cities

                 Mohenjo Daro – Pakistan

The Mohenjo Daro civilization located in the Indus Valley is considered to be one of the oldest civilizations in the world.  It was contemporary with the Egyptian and Mesopotamian civilizations and was just as advanced, and the people who lived there were busy engaged in writing, scientific research, craft, trade, religious practice and agriculture.  This peaked as early as 2000 BC.

The ruins of the buildings of this civilization found in the Indus Valley prove how technologically advanced they were, and the building arrangements and complex aqueduct systems of Mohenjo Daro, the main city of the Indus Valley Civilization, were made with very high technology.  Another peculiarity here is that there are no ruins of special palaces and temples.  Therefore, it is assumed that this civilization was composed of egalitarian, less religious people.  However, scholars say that the evidence is not enough to come to a definite opinion about it.

The periodic overflow of the Indus River is believed to have led to the gradual decline of this city and civilization.  The city of Mohenjo Daro has been destroyed at least six times by floods of this magnitude, and each time its people have worked to rebuild it.  However, this is not the case in B.C.  It was completely abandoned around 1800, and the exact reason for its abandonment has not been revealed to this day.

           Petra – Jordan

Petra in Jordan is one of the oldest cities in the Middle East with a long history.  The special thing here is that this city has never been 'hidden' from the world like all the other cities mentioned in the previous articles.  It was once very populous and prosperous, but was later abandoned for various reasons.  However, ruins or parts of its buildings remain.  Western nations did not know about it until about 1000 years after it was built and BC.  In 103 the Roman army conquered it.

Petra, a thriving city even after the Roman occupation, wept as an earthquake destroyed its water supply structure.  Built in the middle of a desert, this city was equipped with a very advanced and efficient water supply system, and when it collapsed due to the earthquake, the city was completely without water supply, making it a challenge to live there

It was easier to migrate and establish a new city than to rebuild it, so the people there abandoned it completely.  Then it was slowly destroyed by things like sandstorms in the desert.  However, it later became a haven for adventurers and thieves.

Today, Petra is recognized and preserved as a place of great historical value in the world.

           Troy – Turkey

Before 1871, many people thought about the city of 'Troy' mentioned in the old books that it was an imaginary city.  However, that opinion changed completely that year when the historian Hendik Schliemann funded further excavations at the site of Hisalik in Turkey, where several ancient artifacts and structures were found.

During the excavations, fragments of the great walls mentioned by Homer in his literary works were found, as well as gold and silver pearls believed to be at Troy and Manjusa, believed to be there.  They were found.  Schliemann carefully studied Homer's writings and compared them with objects found in excavations in Turkey.  It was revealed that he had actually re-explored the city of Troy, which until then had been thought by many to be an imaginary city.

A German, Schliemann brought the objects found in Troy to his home country, and they remained in German possession until World War II.  However, when the Russians invaded Berlin at the end of World War II, they were taken to Russia as reparations for the double losses they had received from the Germans.  According to modern technology, the city of Troy BC.  It was destroyed several times and rebuilt on the ruins.  It is debatable which part of these constructions may have been built by the Greeks, but it is noteworthy that there were ruins here that confirm that Homer's 'Trojan Horse' actually existed.
